Menby is Menbere Alemayehu, the founder and designer at Menby.  

After studying Apparel design  at the University of Delaware and acquiring prolonged experience in  the world of design, Menbere moved to her home country and opened a self-owned women's apparel design shop that employed over 22 young women.

After 10 years in the business, Menbere founded Menby, an apparel and home decor store which would be focused on merging Ethiopian aesthetics with modern living. She searches Ethiopia's cultural mosaic to bring you luxurious fabrics with contemporary elegance. The Fabrics are hand woven and hand embroidered with great attention given to detail, a hallmark to Menby's collection.

Drawing on traditional techniques and incorporating exquisite hand skills such as gold embroidery and bead embroidery, her vision is to build an international brand, preserving Ethiopia’s weaving culture and inspiring all people to join her in celebrating this heritage.

Menby is committed to skills training and employment for young women in hopes of assisting the economical empowerment of Ethiopian women.
